The Brains of Coffee Chats

Today you get to meet the smart half of our Coffee Chats duo. (We just won't point out what that says about me, haha!)

(Ok, just kidding....I was just trying to make Holly feel better.)

(. . .)

(Ok, just kidding again - man, I crack myself up)

ANYWAY...

Today I am introducing you to Holly, one of my bestest friends in all the world. I met her at the very beginning of our freshman year of college. (Read that story here....makes me tear up every time!) We've been pretty much inseparable since then...unfortunately, we don't live anywhere near each other any more. :(

Holly and her husband Andrew live in Shelby, North Carolina. They have been married for about a year and a half. Holly enjoys being a homemaker and also working at a mission board part time. She blogs at Moments on Our Journey. In short....she's amazing. (Ha ha, in short....there I go, cracking myself up again.)

We agreed a few weeks ago that before we begin our coffee chats, our readers should get to know us a little bit better! So we each complied a list of questions to ask the other. We did not discuss what type of questions we were going to ask...but when we sent them to each other, they were freaky close. What can I say, thats just how we roll!

Enough of my babbling. I'm going to let Holly do the rest of the talking.

1. When did you start your first blog?

In 2007, when I was a freshman in college. Mostly just to have a writing outlet during stressful college days.

2. What goals or dreams do you have in the blogging arena?

To blog more! I'm so bad about finding time to do it. I would love to get to the point where I'm more established and know more of what I'm doing and can really have fun with it!

3. We're curious: Mac or PC?? And what do you have at the moment?

Oh, tough question! I would have to say both. I use an iMac at work, then an iPad at home about 90% of the time. I use my almost 6 year old Dell laptop for a lot of blogging stuff.
I would pick a Mac for just about everything except it's office programs. Give me Microsoft Word any day of the week!

4. How much do computers tie into your day-to-day life?

Well, I'm on a computer 6 hours a day at work, and then a few hours a night as well. I use my iPad for everything from finding a recipe for supper to watching Netflix to email and Facebook and more. When you're married to a techie, computer nerd, computers are a major part of life!

5. Tell us about a person that is a hero or role-model for you.

Wow, this is a hard one...I think my role-models are a conglomeration of people who have inspired to be a better Christian, wife, friend, and overall person. My Jr. high English teacher was a huge example to me of what a Godly lady should be. Mandi Ehman from Life...Your Way is my favorite blog role-model. And I could name several more people who daily inspire me to do my best.

6. What is your favorite coffee?

An Almond Joy Mocha Latte from Cool Beans at The Wilds is the best!

Thanks so much, Holly! You can read about me over at Holly's blog. (Not like you really need to know more about me, lol)

So here is how Coffee Chats is going to work. Because we are always thousands of miles apart, (grrr) our chatting is always via Skype, which has to be man's best friend. So twice a month, we are going to let you in on our crazy chats by (editing them first and then) putting them on our blogs for you to read. We plan to chat about all kinds of life issues ... blogging, friends, habits, green living...pretty much anything. You will get to participate by adding your own thoughts in the comments section! So let us know what topics YOU would like to chat about!

Stay tuned in the next couple weeks for the first installment of Coffee Chats!
