Change part 4

Image
In case you haven't been reading here on my little 'ol blog for long, let me bring you up to speed on parts 1, 2 and 3 of this "change" series I have going on... 1. August 2013 : I submitted paperwork to extend my visa to live in Canada. I knew that sometime in the near future I would have to make a change (hence the name of this series!) and find a different visa that would allow me to live in Canada longer. 2. October 2013 : I found out I was denied an extension on my visa and had to get out of the country that very day . So I left and came back to the States. (It is hard to believe this was over a year ago...time flies!) 3. July 2014: After many months of searching, praying, and working on getting a new visa (including meeting with a lawyer) I find out that I do not qualify for any visa in any stream of immigration. This leads me to the decision and realization that God has a plan for me right here in Maine for the time being. It is hard to believe that it has bee...

Where I've been + what I am learning

Summer has been simply fabulous around here, and with beautiful summer weather comes busy, fun-filled days! The month of July was crazy busy with fun activities, want to hear a little about it? We started the month with a visit from cousins in NY, as well as a big birthday/graduation for another cousin. They hosted a big outdoor party complete with bonfire, fireworks, volleyball, and of course - great food! We did a lot of other fun things through the week...Disc Golf, a play, Sweet Frog, soccer, just to name a few! The following week a bunch of us took a day trip to Foxborough, MA to watch the Patriot's practice! A week after the first round of cousins left, more came...this time from CT and Alberta! One of my cousins brought a 4 week old baby, so there was PLENTY of baby-holding that went on that week! We waited in line for an hour to get huge delicious lobster rolls! It was a fantastic, fun-filled, busy, tiring month! I have been reminded again why summer is my favourite season,...

Change, part 3

If you missed Change Part 1 and Part 2 , you'll want to get caught up and then come back to this post. I has been 6 months since I got kicked out of Canada . via The last 6 months have held lots of questions and wondering about what was to come. They have also held countless blessings as the Lord has met every need and provided in ways I never would have dreamed possible . And I'll be honest...while I am repeatedly thanking the Lord for the way he provides, I am even more repeatedly asking Him, "why me?" I don't think God minds if we ask Him "why," but we must be content to wait and be content with His answer. And I cling to these verses: Feel free to use/download/share/print that photo, just please give credit back to this post. The background picture was taken by yours truly in Lockeport, NS And so I've been waiting. Waiting to see the goodness of God. Waiting for His will to be evident. Waiting for my heart to be strengthened. Because goodnes...

So Sew Organized Update: Fleece Infinity Scarves

A couple weeks ago, the proverbial Groundhog saw his shadow, predicting 6 more weeks of winter. (Or is it that he didn't see his shadow?? Either way, he says 6 more weeks of winter - someone shoot the groundhog!) So far his prediction has been pretty true for the the state of Maine. We're still sitting with about a foot of snow on the ground, despite temps above freezing last weekend. But since spring is exactly 26 days away, we can at least start thinking and dreaming about it, right? And with this transition between the two seasons comes a shift in our wardrobe, too. I love bringing in some pops of colour to introduce a spring wardrobe, or adding some fun accessories when I'm no longer up to my ears in a parka. I may or may not wear several sweaters and coats every day during the winter, so its nice to be able to do something a little different! So whether you still need a bit of protection against the cold, or just want something new to get you out of a winter slump, I ...

If you missed Change part 1, read it here . So, I have a bit of a surprise for you today. Ready for this? I'm in the States.  Surprise! Were you surprised? So was I! Here is the story... You probably remember from reading the first part of this story that my visa to live in Canada was about to expire. I applied to renew it, knowing that I couldn't continue to live there with this visa forever. That extension was denied. I found out halfway through October that I had to leave - that very day . Talk about a moment of panic! I made a phone call and found out that I had to go as soon as arrangements could be made to leave. So I packed my bags and wrapped up some of my responsibilities as best I could, and left Canada. via Talk about life throwing you a curve ball. It seems from my human perspective that I was in the middle of so many things - two church ministries, helping with a Bible study, plus piano lessons for my siblings, an upcoming Christmas program...plus, hello! My famil...
