When Blessing Others Becomes Hard

Image
I’ll be honest – I wasn’t planning to be single. But there I was, single, with four years of college behind me, and totally clueless as to what the future held. The last thing on my mind was being a blessing to others, until a wise teacher encouraged me, “Pour yourself into others. It will help take your mind off yourself.” That piece of advice helped me in ways I didn’t realize at the time. Post-Autumn sale: 50% off!

Autumn is winding to a close - some areas already have snow! We've seen flurries, but nothing significant yet, thank goodness . So for a limited time, I'm marking down the Autumn-inspired zippered pouches in my shop . No coupon is needed, I've simply lowered the price 50%!! Falling Leaves Stitcher's Block Sunflowers Now would be a great time to stock up on a few of these - either for yourself, or to give as gifts! I guarantee that if you have a few laying around, you will find uses for them on a regular basis. =) These pouches have so many uses. I've used mine to organize the tote I carry every day . It is handy for things like business cards, makeup, or other little things that get lost in the bottom of my bag otherwise! And I don't even carry a large bag! How fun would it be to fill one up - say as a sewing kit as seen above - and give it as a gift? I'm kind of in love with these, and the whole concept of using pouches like this to organize my totes and

DIY Preschool Matching Activity

Image
This DIY Preschool Matching Activity is perfect for preschoolers.  Use it in a busy box, Sunday School, or daycare setting to occupy the littles. I put together this activity to use in our Noah-themed VBS this year. Since the animals came two-by-two, I figured an animal matching game would go well with the theme! Read the rest of this post and see how I put this activity together here at Imperfect Homemaker.

If you missed Change part 1, read it here . So, I have a bit of a surprise for you today. Ready for this? I'm in the States.  Surprise! Were you surprised? So was I! Here is the story... You probably remember from reading the first part of this story that my visa to live in Canada was about to expire. I applied to renew it, knowing that I couldn't continue to live there with this visa forever. That extension was denied. I found out halfway through October that I had to leave - that very day . Talk about a moment of panic! I made a phone call and found out that I had to go as soon as arrangements could be made to leave. So I packed my bags and wrapped up some of my responsibilities as best I could, and left Canada. via Talk about life throwing you a curve ball. It seems from my human perspective that I was in the middle of so many things - two church ministries, helping with a Bible study, plus piano lessons for my siblings, an upcoming Christmas program...plus, hello! My famil
