3 Neglected Areas you can Spring Clean WITHOUT Chemicals

Image
Any journey happens step by step, and not all at once. That is also exactly how my healthy living journey is evolving - step by tiny step as resources and knowledge become available. One of the areas I have experimented in is using products that are safe and natural for cleaning and household tasks . I'm excited to share 3 out-of-the-ordinary places I have found that I can REALLY clean without ANY chemicals! (I also share some other cleaning resources at the end of this post, so read on!) You may be a little skeptical, and I'll admit, I was too! Can things really get clean without powerful, smelly sprays and concentrates to kill all those nasty germs? Well to the skeptic I promise you... here are 3 areas that really can! 1. Shower and faucet heads. Use white vinegar diluted in water to get of all water stains and build up with no scrubbing! (You can find all kinds of instructional posts on Pinterest like this one .) I recently did this with our shower and tub and W...

Criss Naturals Body Butter Review

Image
In the past few months I've been on a mission to discover and try some healthier options in my day-to-day routines. I have slowly been switching a lot of my personal care items to more natural options with less chemicals. I have seen great results and found some great products along the way! (Aaaand I know...I owe you an update post. Soon!) As part of this healthier journey I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review a fantastic product by a new company -  Criss Naturals  body butter! My interest was piqued as soon as I saw the word "natural" in the company name. :) Here is a little bit about this new company... During the summer of 2013, Kristin found out about a number of food and chemical allergies that significantly changed her lifestyle. While traveling extensively for work, she realized that high-end body products in hotels throughout the world contained many more ingredients and chemicals than one would expect. But the natural products currently on the...

Blog Coaching from Kathryn at Singing through the Rain

Image
Recently I had the opportunity to take advantage of a blog coaching package offered by Kathryn . She has a fun, beautiful blog, Singing Through the Rain , geared towards military wives, and offers packages of blog coaching and virtual assistance to help the rest of us whip our blogs into shape! My main concern was my sidebar. Basically, it was a mess...I practically couldn't stand to look at my own blog. Not good, huh? Especially when I am trying to attract people to my blog, and I want them to stay! I needed things to be inviting, uniform, and easy to find/navigate. I had tried to fix it myself, and no dice. Kathryn was so super quick! She began working on it as soon as I contacted her, and within one day she had already tidied things up so much. She stayed in contact with me throughout the week, allowing me to make suggestions and ask questions. I liked the fact that she has her own blogging experience to add, she knows what works and what doesn't! At the end of the week, wi...

My personal experience with Zenni Optical

Image
A few months back I took a daring step...I ordered glasses online! Living life on the edge, right? {wink!} I knew several people that had bought glasses through an online store with great success. In fact, not one person I talked to had anything negative to say about the experience! I put it off for a long time, just because it made me nervous...but I'm glad I did it now! I chose Zenni Optical for two reasons... Their method seemed easiest to use and most accurate Most of the people I talked to that had ordered glasses online had used them, so if I had any questions I knew who to call!  It is pretty easy to scroll through the selections on the Zenni Optical site , and simple to refine your search down to exactly what you want. I was looking for rimless, so those are mostly the ones I looked through...they have a pretty big selection! Long story short...I was happy with them when they came! I was a bit concerned about the fit. Glasses are a pretty obvious part of your wardrobe, actu...
