Goals for the Week, January 21, 2013

Happy Monday, friends! I can't wait to hear what you've been up to this week. Everyone ready for this new week ahead of us? I just love looking into a big, empty week...just waiting to be filled! As I was spending some time in prayer last night, I asked the Lord to give me a God-honoring, productive week, both spiritually and physically. I realize that is going to depend largely on the things I put into this week...which is why I set goals!


My goals from last week were:

Finish "Eric Liddell"

Start "Intercessory Prayer"

Write one letter

Finish Christmas thank you cards

Memorize 3 verses

Write one post for another site

Sort through paper clutter, and create a better system for paper organization - who was I kidding...I thought I was going to get that done in one week? I worked on it...but didn't get it done!


 My goals for this week are:

Write one letter

Memorize 3 verses

Continue to organize paper clutter/create better system

Complete new shop graphics

Continue reading Intercessory Prayer

Get up by 8:30 every morning

Decorate for men’s banquet Saturday

It is time for an update on my weekly goals! In case you missed last week , I decided to get back into the habit of setting intentional, weekly goals in order to accomplish more during the precious hours I have around my work schedule. I am happy to report that this first week went very well! I wasn't sure exactly how it would turn out. It has been a couple years since I really was purposeful about my goals, so to be honest I was slightly skeptical. Was I already doing enough? Did I have more time in a day to get things done? But it did help, so much! With goals for what I want to accomplish in a week, it was so easy to pull together my daily to-do list from those goals. And there was no question as to what I should do if I did have a little down time. I had a goal to work towards even in the small moments. Last week's goals: Personal: Spend time in God's word every day Memorize one Bible verse Practice piano 3 times Practical: Make pumpkin scones Finish

Some Friday Love: Recipe Binder Printable!

To celebrate this beautiful Friday evening (aren't Friday's just the best of days?) I have a FREE printable for you! I have to admit that I don't have a recipe binder, but a reader asked if I could make a printable to match the others for a recipe binder. If there is one thing I love, it is making printables that meet the needs of my readers! This blog would be pretty boring without you, so passing on some love in the way of printables is the least I can do! Anyway, back to the printable. How did I get on the sappy train? I really was not sure what all is included on a recipe binder page, but here is what I came up with: Then I thought that maybe there are some people out there that prefer to write teeny tiny and save space, and would like two recipes to a sheet. "Frasier Island" Book Review and Giveaway!

Last month I spoke at a Christian Writer's Conference and met beautiful authors such as Susan Page Davis. I recently read her book, Frasier Island , and I am so excited to tell you about it! It is easy to tell when you've got your hands on a good book, and friends, this is a good book . It is full of mystery and intrigue, unexpected twists and plots, and just enough romance woven through to make it not over-the-top-lovey-dovey. Romance novels aren't really my thing, but a well written, informative, interesting mystery is!
