Goals for the Week, April 29, 2013

Happy Monday, friends! Just popping in with a quick update on my goals from last week. Today is promising to be another busy week, so I'm keeping this brief and then going to get to work! :)

Last week, I set these goals:

Hem pants {15 pair!!}

Work on mending

Finish new shop item

Finish one post for another site

Write 2 letters/emails

Continue to read Won by Love {Norma McCorvey} and Tamate: the Life Story of James Chalmers {Richard Lovett}

Work on switching up bedroom decor - I’m ready for a change!

Memorize Philippians 3:10-12


This week, I'm setting the following goals:

Work on hemming pants

Post one new shop item

Work on one post for another site

Write 2 letters/emails

Memorize Philippians 3:10-12

Start making culottes for one sister

Celebrate my birthday! =)

"Frasier Island" Book Review and Giveaway!

Last month I spoke at a Christian Writer's Conference and met beautiful authors such as Susan Page Davis. I recently read her book, Frasier Island , and I am so excited to tell you about it! It is easy to tell when you've got your hands on a good book, and friends, this is a good book . It is full of mystery and intrigue, unexpected twists and plots, and just enough romance woven through to make it not over-the-top-lovey-dovey. Romance novels aren't really my thing, but a well written, informative, interesting mystery is! The story line takes Ensign Rachel Whitney to a new post on a remote scrap of rock in the Pacific called Frasier Island. Living there in isolation with two other soldiers, both Rachel and Lt. Quick Tip Tuesday: Facebook. Just Stop.

I have to say, I never, ever thought I'd be writing this post. But here we go. The goal of these quick tips is to simplify. Because really, isn't that the goal of every organizing project? We find a system that isn't working - something that aggravates our daily routine, and frankly, aggravates us! And we tear it apart and make an even bigger mess than before so we can find a better system that simplifies life. These quick projects do the same thing, with the added benefit of being, well, quick! These are quick fixes that take little or no time but have a big impact. Today's quick tip? Just stop with all the Facebook. Now hear me out. I am not getting rid of Facebook. It is one of the main ways I communicate with not only my immediate family in Canada, but my extended family and close friends that live all across the globe.
